Brooks shares:
Sitting with Samson was like being in the twilight zone. He was so quiet, so humble, barely whispering as I asked him to share his story. He began by telling me he was a farmer. He told me he knew a man named Sylvester who saw him in town and asked if he could come visit him. Samson told him, “No, not today, I am going to plant, but maybe next week.” Sylvester did indeed go visit Samson at his home the next week. The result? Samson received Christ. With Sylvester’s encouragement, he invited his friends who help him work in his fields to come and do Discovery Bible Study (DBS) with him. The result? Seven people asked to be baptized.
Samson went onto tell me, “I am shy, but I invited people to come to my house church and asked them to bring their close friends. I gave them my testimony. Then we were 28 people who were meeting in my home. Sylvester equipped and trained me. We divided into three DBS groups who then became eleven house churches.”
“I began doing this work in 2017. We are increasing so fast because we show the love of God to our neighbors. We take them fruits and vegetables and the Good News that God loves them. Sometimes we help an old man or an old woman to carry water.”
“Now, the last Sunday of the month, I am meeting with 108 house church leaders. We do trainings and equipping them for the work of making more disciples. We are now 84 Discovery Bible Studies and 54 house churches.”
Sylvester told me, “This guy is a very, very humble and good man. He is my Timothy. I know that if I die, the work will continue to go on.”
Your partnership undergirds the work of many, many people like Samson! Thank you!
