We are celebrating farms planted in the desert area of Turkana where many children are fortunate to get even one meal each day.
Joseph was known as a “goroko” or a gang leader who would raid other tribes and steal cattle. He was often gone from home for long periods leaving the children and mom to fend for themselves in the desert.
When William brought the Gospel to him, everything changed. He was baptized and began to follow all that he was learning from “God’s book.” Soon he had gathered others into his home to learn how to be followers of Jesus Christ and spread the word to others.
When the church planting team offered to help with a farm, he knew this would change their lives. It was not easy, but they worked out a borehole, irrigation, and eventually some fencing to keep out wild animals. Even now, some of the men who benefit from this farm, sleep on the land to make sure it is not being destroyed by animals or thieving tribes.
We thank God for you who partner with us.
