From loss & poverty—to a new home you help provide

Aulton’s dad had four wives.  He also had HIV AIDS. Aulton’s mom was the second wife. She died before Aulton was even 12 months old. His father ended up dying of “HIV-Aids and otherwise witchcraft.” Two of the remaining wives went their separate ways but the last remaining mother begrudgingly took Aulton in. He lived with her and her children until one day this step-mom became sick also.

Sickly and desperate she went to Aulton and told him, “I am going to the hospital. You care for these children until I am well and come back home. I PROMISE you when I return I will buy a school uniform, shoes, and food. I will pay your school fees and you can return to school.” Aulton believed his mom’s promises and persevered on his own in a very desperate situation in the highest hopes of seeing these promises come true.

Unfortunately, that’s not what happened…

The mother never returned… so much loss, abandonment, and rejection

______________________________________

The mother never returned. In Aulton’s 14 years he had already suffered so much loss, abandonment and rejection, not to mention many nights going to sleep hungry. The mother died.

John, the director of Liberty School, performed her funeral, not well attended. John discovered that Aulton was alone, no parents, no family. So, in spite of the school being stretched far beyond the max, now at 450 children, and even though John is already personally caring for and housing 16 total orphans, he still could not refuse to invite Aulton into his home to live with him as his son. Along with the others, they are hugged mercilessly, told repeatedly how precious they are to God, given a home with two parents, food, clothing and an education.  They all lovingly call John “Daddy.”

When you see Aulton today, you see a handsome, brave, strong, sweet spirited young man in his last year of high school.  He’s a boy filled with gratitude, joy, and tremendous faith in God for his future. Because of his sponsor, John has been able to feed, clothe, educate, protect, nurture and disciple this young man.  A boy was rescued because of your help.  We all, especially Aulton, thank you so much.
