Lillian, the team leader’s wife in Burundi, brought new life to this prostitute:
When we walked into her home I asked her if it was ok to talk about Jesus Christ. When she said yes, my relative shared with her about her own life as a prostitute. She told her how God showed her how much He loved her and how her life has changed. We shared our lives and the love of God with her.
The woman began to cry as we talked. She felt unworthy and unloved. She then told us about her secret life of so much embarrassment as a prostitute. She asked me, ‘What can I do to live the life you are now living?’ So, we shared more about Jesus and we prayed with her. She cried when we left because she didn’t know if she would see us again. We told her, ‘Next week we will come and meet with you and whoever you invite to look at the Scriptures together. We are now friends. You are not alone.’
